What is Durable Advantage?
Durable Advantage is a new theory of competitive strategy. It argues that artificial intelligence will entrench industry incumbents rather than displace them.
The theory emerged during my MBA at Wharton, where I noticed that AI’s impact on industry dynamics couldn’t be explained by traditional business school frameworks — and in some cases, contradicted them (e.g. Disruption Theory).
Durable Advantage Theory builds on the works of many great management thinkers (e.g. Clayton Christensen, Michael Porter, Jim Collins, Nicolaj Siggelkow, Christian Terwiesch) and puts forth updated frameworks for how to think about strategy and competition in the post-software era.
This Substack is where I share and discuss publicly my work on the Durable Advantage Theory, including frameworks, applied research, and company case studies.
